For Oxfordshire building supplies, A.W. Mobbs is a family run business serving Oxford and the home counties with building supplies. We are situated just outside Oxford next to the major route-ways out of Oxfordshire, so we can deliver to our customers quickly and efficiently. Originally a traditional coal merchants, we have diversified and expanded into a modern competitive builders’ merchants.
We have seen many changes in the industry over the decades and have learned to adapt quickly to the changing economic and construction landscapes. Knowing what our customers are likely to need and delivering products on site quickly has given us respect among our clients old and new.
Our Products and Services
1. Sand Cement Shingle Lime
We stock a wide range of cements that can be used in many applications such as general building work, repairs, laying patios, quality finishes and high strength use.
Our gravel and shingle is available in small handy bags or bulk bags for large project quantities.
We sell various types of sand for use in plastering, cement, concrete, or just rough/general use for filling gaps in block paving.
2. Brick Paviors fencing, railway sleepers turf
We carry everything you need to build a deck, a patio or reshape your land.
We supply a choice of used reclaimed sleepers, or newer softwood or oak sleepers for raised beds, steps, or edging.
We can supply a large range of pressure treated and dipped fencing including decorative fencing panels. Call for details.
Our garden lawn turf provides an attractive, hard wearing, grass with a dense green covering. Suitable for family lawns and quality landscaping situations. Call us for other turfs and info.
3. Calor gas logs boiler spares fireside accessories

4. Public Weighbridge
Accurate public weighbridge for use for customers’ weighing of vehicles and objects where determination of a specific weight/load is important, including ensuring that vehicles are not overloaded.
we produce a document made out recording the details of each weighing – one copy is given to the person requesting the weighing, and the other is retained by the weighbridge operator.
